Why R.A.I.S.E. ?
Massachusetts is home to MIT, Harvard and Amherst and a place where quality education is highly valued. A place that takes the lead in innovative bullying prevention programs such as R.A.I.S.E. which stands for Respect, Achieve, Inclusion, Service and Empathy. These are the core values of a bullying prevention program originally developed by North Andover Massachusetts Public Schools together with Project Adventure.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING APPROACH
RAISE is an activity-based approach …proactive interventions that focus on social skill development. Santa Fe Learning Centers like Project Adventure and most experiential education specialists have had the core values of RAISE incorporated into their programs years before bullying became the focus of attention in our schools. Santa Fe Learning now offers 3 programs specifically aimed at bullying prevention in grades 6, 7 and 8. We offer effective activity-based learning that emphasizes applying what is learned back at school and at home.
TEACHER TRAINING
In addition to programs for students, Santa Fe Learning offers teacher training programs aimed at Guidance Counselors, School Psychologists and Physical Education Teachers. Armed with facilitation skills and a step by step activity guide, school teachers and staff can offer impactful exercises that are fun and thought provoking. Activities that give students the opportunity to practice and improve the social skills needed to undercut bullying and replace it with respect and inclusion.
